Quality in the University Medical Hospital Dusseldorf-Luise-Rainer-Straße (MH)

The MH follows a multi-dimensional approach in the definition of quality. Good quality depends to a large extent on the medical results. Data on medical results, such as complication rates, are periodically published in a transparent way and are made available in quality reports and on health portals.

Patient safety represents another dimension of quality and is permanently enhanced as a part of the clinical risk management process. Staff members and patients can use reporting systems which facilitate the reporting, correction and prevention of mistakes. Moreover, hospital hygiene in combination with regular on-site inspections and trainings of the staff members provides for high patient safety in the MH.

After all, the individual experience of our patients including all aspects of their hospital stay and treatment constitutes a third dimension of quality. Systematic patient surveys or the appraisal and complaints management are the source of important findings.

It is necessary to have a reliable quality management system for the control of all these measures. This is ensured by regular certifications according to the standard DIN EN ISO 9001 throughout the entire MH and by numerous specific certifications and accreditations of the hospitals and institutes.
