Welcome to the Institute of Clinical Pharmacology and Toxicology

The co-workers of the Institute of Clinical Pharmacology aim to elucidate the pathomechanisms of cardvascular diseases. Using a translational approach new drug targets are identified and drugs for the treatment of these diseases are further investigated. Main focus is on the role of NO metabolism for the onset of cardiovascular diseases and the development of diabetes mellitus and its complications. To achieve this goal a multitude of methods from molecular basic research to clinical studies are employed.
